A look of hope

Probably this picture was taken from the video recording, when the drillers reached the refuge created inside the San Esteban’s mine. The video was supplied by the authorities to the channels. The photograph was taken on Sunday at midday. I have some doubts about it; moreover the information was incorrect.

The photograph shows the face of a miner. It has the worst quality in the world, and it is a blur, dark image. I believe that the eyes are the most important things in this composition. We can watch not only a simply face. It has a great semantic charge. The miner was looking at the camera, and I interpreted it as a look of life or salvation.

To me the face means the end of 17 days without water, food and uncertainty. I like this image because it was the end of the suffering of a lot of people. They were isolated for longs seventeenth days.

I like this image because it was the end of the sufferings of a lot of people. For this reason a lot of people were celebrating when they heard the news about the miners.

  2. it has a lot of symbols... and many more to come, we will see more thing and that picture is the second beggining of this whole story...
as you said, the uncertainty is the first thing, the beggining of a stressful calm on the whole country, then this picture is the relief again for all of us, but then, the days before that, the ones we are living, and the next until they take them out, is something complicate for me to understand, I think is only to make those minorities who have power and money to take the opportunity to make more money or to acquire more power... it's strage, encountered feelings...
